Ringleader

The kids are so close in age that they have similar interests in how they like to play.  In the back yard, there are so many different ways to play and pretend that they could spend all day out there.  Usually, though, when they play together, they are led by Joshua.  Probably because he's the oldest, and maybe also somewhat because he's a boy and likes to do the more "dangerous" (fun?) things, he is usually running the show if they are playing together.  They're like a roving band of small kids, moving from one activity to another in the back yard, with Joshua the Ringleader leading the way.  A good example of this was Friday when Joshua decided it might be fun to walk along the outer edge of the deck railing.  It's only a couple feet off the ground, so there's no real danger.  But Joshua came up with the idea and pitched it to his sisters.  They agreed, and then he led the way, followed by Clara, followed by Hannah.  As long as he's making good, or at least okay, decisions, this is fine.  But I worry a little bit about how it'll be when they're older and able to get into more trouble.  But for now, it's an innocent and cute dynamic between them.
