One thing that probably shouldn't surprise me, but does, about my kids is how much they like open-ended projects and how they comparatively dislike projects with detailed instructions. Because of this, they are way more into art than crafts. Today we got out the paints and they loved it. They also later had a lot of fun with the dried paint brushes, using them as toys.
