The weather was beautiful today, so we decided to go to the park. We took a Jimmy John's lunch at ate at the picnic tables and then went over to the play area. As usual, the sand was the main attraction. Last year Hannah wasn't very interested in the sand, but this year she jumped right in with the other kids. We brought our own sand toys, and often people are there who didn't bring any, so we shared with some nearby kids. Joshua really wanted to build a sand castle, and with some effort and trial and error, he was able to do so and was pretty proud about it.
Hannah was also brave enough to want to do the curvy ladder thing on her own. Look at her determined face in the middle picture!
We then went home for naptime, but after that we headed over to Mom and Ron's for a family party to celebrate Joanna being in town. We had food and cupcakes. Gordon and Bev (Kirk's parents) drove in from Hanover, which was a nice surprise. We were also able to get some pictures of Joanna with them and also with her nieces and nephews.
I tried to take some selfies with Benjamin, but none of them really turned out that well. Fortunately I was able to get a pretty good picture of Joanna with Hannah. It was a really fun night, and I'm glad we could all get together to enjoy a night together while Joanna is in town.
I am really jealous of the picture Joanna got with Hannah- she is so cute and smiley. Maybe one day Hannah will smile with me and decide I am not a creepy stranger :)
